The following day we abandoned dry land (not that we’d been very “dry”!) to join a Tropical Adventures catamaran cruise on the boat One Love from St John’s, the island’s capital.
It was a terrific way to experience Antigua, spotting swanky beachside homes including that of fashion guru Giorgio Armani. We dropped anchor at Turner’s Beach and had a swim in the warm clear waters.
Lunch was eaten on deck. Salad, rice and freshly grilled lobster with a glass or two of bubbly. Gazing out to the sea and the brilliant blue sky, we all agreed it doesn’t get much better than this.
