Those areas really are interesting indeed. I would also add the villas at the north end of Darkwood beach to the stunning list of luxury property featured in this article.

Overnight Stay and Parking at Manchester Airport
For our recent trip to Antigua we departed from Manchester with Thomas Cook Airlines and elected to stay in a hotel. Unfortunately Manchester was subject to a terrorist atrocity the night before at the Ariana Grande Concert but to the city’s credit they didn’t allow the terrorists to disrupt everything and flights carried on as normal. There was a big feeling of guilt to be leaving on holiday knowing how tough the lives of the families involved were now.
We picked the Airport Inn & Spa Manchester as it came out on top after our rigorous checking and going through reviews. You don’t have to do that as we have found the best one already (well ok we didn’t check the others but they won’t be better at this money)
Quick reasons why we picked the Airport Inn and Spa
Located 10 minutes by car from the airport – during rush hour we took just 10 minutes to arrive in the airports car park.
Great Value for money.
Ease of check in.
Room size and standard.
Restaurant and Bar.
It uses the airports own long stay so when we touch back down we can quickly escape back home.
Going All Inclusive?
Why not buy a couple of inflatable drinks holders or a Bubba? You can find them on this page. The drinks holders are a lot of fun and are practical too – trying to balance a disposable cup in the sand results in a loss of rum punch and they really are stable in the pool as well – check out the video here.
Expedia have made a new ANTIGUA video and it’s really good. They had a good budget you can tell with some nice crane shots and aerial video. All of the best manicured parts of Antigua are on show. It makes you feel almost that is this MY ANTIGUA!
It’s well narrated and a good watch so why not do that now..would love to get your opinion in the comments below.
Just 3 hours from Miami and 8 from Europe it’s ideally located for a lot of people. Also great airfares currently from Canada means this remains a destination for them too.
From rustic iron roofs – colourful lids, french windows Antigua is a photographer’s delight. The capital St Johns is vibrant and easily discovered – we have a great walking tour on this very site. One of Antigua’s best beaches is Fort James Beach for the cruise shippers. Enjoy a horse ride, or a more modern segway tour. The cathedral is a must do stop if you are in St Johns. So there is more than enough here for a cruise ship stop. For others staying longer the beaches would be worth exploring one by one for a whole year as there are 365! Betty’s hope reveals some of the past of Antigua and the sugar mills and plantation can be seen in it’s internal museum. Antigua is excellent as a place to walk. Not too hilly unless you need that
Shopping in Antigua
Shopping is best done from the quays (redcliffe quay and Heritage quay ) in downtown St Johns. There are plenty of places to take a break have some lunch and a drink too – take it slow.
